Enhancv ATS Checker Score Explained: What the Free Scan Shows and What It Hides

The Enhance CV ATS checker scores a resume out of 100 from two tiers, the percentage of content its parser could read and the issues it found across 27 checks in seven categories, and Enhancv’s own page says a score above 80 is “mostly good”.¹ The score and the ATS-compatibility findings are free. The recruiter red-flag, bias and seniority checks, and the rewrite suggestions, are inside the paid builder. In the one documented run we have, the clean resume scored 80 in about 20 seconds, 14 of 27 checks were locked, and the report named two misspellings that were not in the file.²

This page is research-based: what Enhancv says on its public checker page, read on 11 and 14 September 2026, and what we observed on 12 September when we ran one resume through eight checkers. ATS Score Checker publishes a competing tool. Enhancv is also the source of the 2025 recruiter survey (n=25) this site cites on the rejection myth, and credit for that work belongs to them.

What does the Enhancv ATS score measure?

A parse rate plus an issue count, combined into one number by weights the page does not state. Enhancv describes the score as a two-tier system: the first tier is “the percentage of parsed content”, meaning how much of the resume’s structure the checker understood the way an ATS would; the second is “the issues our checker finds”, the writing-quality and accomplishment signals a human recruiter would weigh.¹

The 27 checks are listed on the page in seven categories:

The page says the checks were built by reading the behaviour of BambooHR, Greenhouse, Lever, SAP SuccessFactors and Workday. That is a reasonable set for US and MNC hiring; none of them is the Naukri parsing layer that most Indian applications pass through first.

What does the free Enhancv scan show?

The score, a parsability rate and an “actionable tasklist” for ATS compatibility, with job-tailoring suggestions if you pasted a posting. The checker takes “PDF & DOCX only. Max 2MB file size”; the job description is optional.¹ The page’s free-versus-paid FAQ says the free version gives “actionable next steps to improve your resume’s ATS compatibility”.

In our run the free report arrived without an account wall, which puts Enhancv ahead of Resume Worded, Jobscan and GoodSpace on that criterion, and the report was one per file.² What the free view showed was the score, the unlocked checks from the ATS essentials, sections and content categories, and lock icons on the rest.

What does the Enhancv checker hide behind payment?

Fourteen of the 27 checks in our run, and the fixes for all of them. The page’s own FAQ describes the paid version as analysis “into how a human would read and evaluate your resume” with “an actionable plan to fix the exact HR red flags”: the recruiter red-flag, bias and seniority categories, plus the quantify-with-AI rewrite inside the builder.¹

Pricing is not on the checker page. On 11 September 2026 the pricing page’s title read “Resume Builder Starting from $16.50 and 7-Day Free Plan”; on 14 September the same page rendered in euros with a display error in the Pro price, so we could not read a current figure from it.³ Third-party reviews in 2026 put the monthly plan at $19.99 and the semi-annual at about $13.33 a month.⁴ There is no rupee price.

One finding from the run belongs here because it is about what a locked check can do. The free report told us the file contained the misspellings “projekts” and “crickets”. Neither word is in the file; the fix was a Pro upgrade.² A single run is not a pattern, and we do not know the cause. It is the reason criterion 2 in our comparison asks whether a checker shows the text each finding came from: a finding you can see is a finding you can dispute.

How does Enhancv’s score differ from a published rubric?

Enhancv names its checks and its ATS sources; it does not publish weights, thresholds or whether the score is deterministic. Our rubric on How we score does: Parse fidelity 35, Findability 30, Impact 25, Language 10, each of 34 checks with its points, pass keeps the points, warn keeps half, fail keeps none, and the same file always returns the same number.

We built the right-hand column. Enhancv’s bias category (age and date bias, employment gaps) overlaps in intent with our India flags, with one difference: Enhancv counts bias issues in the score, and we show them beside it without counting, because a government or PSU format expects a date of birth and a photo and a private-sector MNC form does not.

Is Enhancv useful for Indian job seekers?

Yes for parse rate, sections and bullet quality; no for India conventions and Naukri. The checker page has no India angle: no rupee pricing, no Naukri, and no check for a photo, a father’s name, a 10th/12th marks table, a declaration block or CTC and notice period. Its keyword tailoring works on any English posting, so it is fine for a Workday or Greenhouse application at an MNC or GCC.

It will not tell an Indian fresher what the two-column campus template did to the parse; our run on the hazardous fresher resume found that none of the eight checkers, Enhancv included, named the columns, the photo, the contact band, the marks table or the skill bars.² The two-column resume and ATS section shows what that failure looks like in extracted text.

What should you do with an Enhancv score?

Take the parse rate seriously, treat the locked findings as unknowns, and verify any spelling flag against your own file. An 80 from Enhancv on a clean single-column file is consistent with what we saw. A low parse rate is the finding to act on first, because it means the structured fields will be wrong in every ATS, not just in Enhancv’s simulation.
